In a first-of-its-kind deal, Vodacom South Africa has partnered with Amazon South Africa to offer customers expanded benefits through Amazon Prime, an all-in-one membership programme that provides members an unparalleled combination of unlimited free delivery, savings, and entertainment benefits

With this launch, Vodacom customers in South Africa will now enjoy an experience beyond streaming, meaning they will now gain access to comprehensive benefits, which boast unlimited movies and series and Amazon Originals through Prime Video; exclusive deals and discounts on thousands of items; early access to special deals and deal events; fast and free delivery (same day, next day delivery) in major cities; as well as free gaming and a Twitch channel subscription through Amazon Luna

As part of the enhanced offering, RED Core, RED Flexi, and RED VIP customers will enjoy all the benefits of Amazon Prime, while customers who sign up for a Home Internet, Mobile Broadband or Fibre plan will be eligible for Amazon Prime from August 2026 onwards

RED Flexi customers will receive a free three-month trial, with RED Core customers receiving a 12-month trial. Customers who wish to continue with the subscription will thereafter be billed monthly at R59 per month reflecting the expanded value offering. RED VIP, Home Internet and Fibre customers will receive free lifetime access. This is subject to the availability of the service and for as long as the customer remains eligible. All Vodacom prepaid customers can sign up to Amazon Prime and pay using their airtime.

Vodacom first introduced Prime Video in 2020 and Prime Video Mobile Edition in 2022, becoming the first mobile operator to launch Prime Video Mobile Edition in South Africa and making this Amazon benefit available to all Vodacom customers

Robert Koen, Managing Director, Sub-Saharan Africa, Amazon

We are thrilled to offer Vodacom customers world-class shopping and entertainment benefits in a single membership through Amazon Prime. Since launching Amazon in South Africa two years ago, we have built a store our customers love, with a great selection of local and international products backed by a reliable delivery experience. Launching Amazon Prime is the next exciting milestone on our journey in the country, deepening our commitment to becoming a meaningful part of South Africans’ daily lives by offering even more convenience, savings, and entertainment, and our collaboration with Vodacom is a demonstration of this ambition.

Mariam Cassim, Chief Executive Officer for Vodacom Fintech Group and Group Partnerships

At Vodacom, we are committed to partnering with like-minded brands that share our passion for delivering digital lifestyle experiences to customers. Through strategic collaborations with leading global partners, we are able to extend the benefits our customers enjoy beyond connectivity and into areas that enrich their everyday lives. Our partnership with Amazon is no different. By bringing Amazon’s world-class shopping, convenience and entertainment benefits to our customers, we are enhancing the value proposition we offer while responding to the evolving customer needs and preferences.
