Zimbabwe have received a timely boost ahead of their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Group B clash against Angola, with Knowledge Musona, Sean Fusire and Divine Lunga all returning to full training.

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) confirmed that the trio have recovered from injuries that ruled them out of Tuesday’s opening match against Egypt and will be available for selection on Friday.

Zimbabwe Warriors: Injured trio back in full training

Musona, Fusire and Lunga picked up their injuries during a training session ahead of the tournament, forcing them to miss the Warriors’ narrow defeat to Egypt.

However, ZIFA says all three players completed a full training session on Thursday, showing no signs of discomfort and displaying sharpness and confidence as preparations intensified for the Angola encounter.

Their return comes as a major lift for the technical team, which is keen to add experience, balance and depth to the squad as Zimbabwe look to keep their qualification hopes alive.

Another player a doubt for Friday

While the Warriors welcome back three key players, defender Munashe Garan’anga remains a concern after suffering a dead leg during the Egypt match.

ZIFA confirmed that Garan’anga did not take part in the latest training session, with the medical team continuing to monitor his condition ahead of Friday’s game.

“All players were in attendance, with the sole exception of Munashe Garan’anga,” ZIFA said in its update.

    High morale in Zimbabwe camp

Despite the injury scare, ZIFA reports that morale remains high within the camp, with intense competition for places as players push for starting roles against Angola.

The association described the latest training session as energetic and positive, highlighting the squad’s focus and determination ahead of the second Group B fixture.

Zimbabwe face Angola at the Stade de Marrakech on Friday, with kick-off set for 2:30pm CAT. With Musona, Fusire and Lunga back in contention, the Warriors will hope to strengthen their lineup as they chase a vital result in Group B.
