Luxair has converted options for two Boeing 737-10 aircraft into firm orders, increasing its total commitment to Boeing’s largest 737 MAX variant to four aircraft.
Announced at the Farnborough International Airshow, the agreement also gives Luxembourg’s flag carrier options for another two 737-10s, preserving the opportunity to expand its fleet further as demand develops.
Luxair originally ordered two 737-10s in 2024, alongside options for two more. Following the latest conversion, its firm Boeing order book now stands at 12 aircraft: eight 737-8s and four 737-10s.
“This agreement represents another important milestone in the execution of our long-term fleet strategy,” said Luxair CEO Gilles Feith.
“As we continue to grow, delivering an outstanding passenger experience remains at the heart of every fleet decision we make. The Boeing 737-10 provides the additional capacity, operational efficiency and flexibility we need to support future demand.”
Luxair plans 213-seat Boeing 737-10
Luxair will configure its 737-10s with 213 seats for use on high-density leisure and business routes.
The cabin will include a 76cm seat pitch, USB-C charging at every seat and wireless inflight entertainment accessible through passengers’ personal devices. The aircraft will be powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines.
Boeing lists the 737-10 as capable of carrying up to 230 passengers over a range of 3,100nm. However, the aircraft has yet to receive regulatory certification and enter commercial service.
Luxair said the additional capacity and commonality between the 737-8 and 737-10 would support the continued development of its network, which now covers more than 100 destinations across Europe and beyond.
The carrier transported more than 2.6 million passengers in 2025 and began integrating new-generation aircraft into its fleet during 2026.
“With the selection of the 737-8 and 737-10, Luxair is building a more profitable and sustainable operation,” said Ricardo Cavero, Boeing vice president for Europe and Israel commercial sales and marketing.
Luxair said the two additional purchase rights would allow it to adapt its future fleet plan in response to changing market conditions and passenger demand.
Once all 12 firm aircraft have been delivered, Luxair’s new-generation Boeing 737 fleet will comprise eight 737-8s and four 737-10s.
