Afrobeats star Shoday enters a new chapter with an infectious new record, ‘MOVE’

    Stream here.

Nigerian Afrobeats star Shoday is back with his latest single, “MOVE,” out on September 9th, as he continues a remarkable run that has seen him emerge as one of the genre’s most exciting new voices.

Arriving off the back of a series of international appearances across the UK and Europe, “MOVE” finds Shoday leaning into the energetic, feel-good sound that has become central to his growing catalogue. Built around infectious melodies, smooth vocals and upbeat Afrobeats production, the record captures Shoday in his element: confident, melodic and unmistakably playful.

“MOVE” arrives at a significant point in Shoday’s career. The release follows the success of his debut album HYBRID, which further established his versatility across Afrobeats, while his recent run of collaborations has continued to push his music to new audiences both at home and internationally.

Earlier this year, Shoday joined FOLA on “Paparazzi,” a standout record that became his first No. 1 on the Official Nigeria Top 100. The song also topped the Official Nigeria Streaming Songs chart, recording 2.81 million on-demand streams and a 36.5 million radio reach in its second week.

The record has since amassed close to 30 million Spotify streams, contributing to Shoday’s wider streaming momentum. His catalogue has now surpassed 260 million Spotify streams, with records including “Nakupenda,” “Casablanca,” “Hey Jago,” and “Gaddem” continuing to rack up significant numbers. His Spotify audience has also grown to more than 2.9 million monthly listeners.

“MOVE” also arrives as Shoday begins to take his music directly to international audiences once again. Following his recent UK and European run, the singer has recently kicked off his Canadian tour, giving fans across Canada the opportunity to experience his music and new material live.

For Shoday, “MOVE” represents another step forward in a rapidly evolving career. Rather than attempting to replicate the success of his previous records, the new single allows him to continue exploring the sound, personality and energy that have made him one of the most recognisable emerging names in Nigeria’s new generation of Afrobeats artists.

With its infectious rhythm and easy-going energy, “MOVE” is built for movement in every sense, from the dancefloor to the stage and beyond.

MOVE is out now. Stream here.
