In January 2012, Uganda’s Ministry of Health issued a moratorium halting new eHealth projects. Donors and NGOs had piloted up to 80 different mHealth applications in Uganda in 2008, and none of them scaled. Donors paid for the pilots. Nobody paid for national rollout.
£150,000to Scale Innovations
The 100x Impact Accelerator at the London School of Economics funds the stage after proof. It wants ventures with evidence that their model works and a credible route to hundreds of millions of people.
Each selected venture receives £150,000 in catalytic grant funding and a 16-week accelerator programme on scaling strategy and impact measurement.
The portfolio leans digital. Intelehealth is a 100x alumni. I can personally vouch for their support. Adalat AI, Darsel, Wysa and the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team are also in the portfolio.
