Zamalek vice-president Hisham Nasr has <a href="https://absafricatv.com/nigeria-confirmed-to-host-caf-general-assembly-in-november/” title=”Nigeria Confirmed To Host CAF General Assembly In November”>confirmed that the club has resolved all outstanding FIFA-related cases affecting its CAF club licensing process, clearing the way for the Egyptian champions to compete in next season’s CAF Champions League.
Speaking to the club’s official “Zamalkawy” platform, Nasr revealed that the board, led by president Hussein Labib, had made the African club license one of its top priorities.
“The board placed this file at the top of its priorities to ensure Zamalek obtained the CAF license and could participate in African competitions without any obstacles,” Nasr said.
He added that the club had settled its financial obligations to Ukrainian side Oleksandriya as well as former winger Ibrahima Ndiaye, allowing both cases to be officially closed.
“We succeeded in paying the dues owed to Oleksandriya and the outstanding payments to Ibrahima Ndiaye, bringing both cases to a final conclusion regarding the CAF license,” he said.
Nasr admitted the process had been challenging, claiming the club encountered obstacles during the negotiations before eventually resolving the issues.
“These were two very difficult cases, and we faced obstacles from external parties, but in the end we managed to solve the crisis,” he added.
Zamalek had been at risk of missing next season’s CAF Champions League despite winning the Egyptian Premier League title, as unresolved FIFA cases and registration sanctions threatened their eligibility.
Under CAF’s licensing regulations, clubs must settle outstanding financial disputes and comply with FIFA disciplinary decisions to obtain the license required to participate in continental competitions. By resolving the pending cases, Zamalek have now removed the final obstacle to their participation in Africa’s premier club tournament.
