    Authorities for South Africa tok say na only 295 Ghananians wey dey eligible board di plane wey fi Ghanaian govment arrange for di voluntary repatriation of im citizens for South Africa

    On Wednesday, di first batch of Ghanainas comot from south Africa admist di ongoing anti-immigrants protest in South Africa

    Nearly 300 Ghanaians, including women and children, comot from South Africa land safetly for di home kontri afta dem bin express dia iterest to return home

    Dis Ghana nationals wey return home from South Africa dey among di ova 1000 pipo wey don register for di voluntary repatriation by di Ghanaian govment

    According to di Border Management Authority (BMA), na only 295 Ghanaians return home as five of di passengers still get documentation issues wey dem still need to resolve

    BMA tok say one of di passengers dey seek asylum for South Africa and e no fit board di plane unless e don cancel di application for protection in South Africa

    “All asylum seekers dey required to cancel dia application for protection if dem wan go back to dia kontri wey dem dey run from,” BMA tok

    Authorities also explain say di second passenger no fit board becos im passport don already expire and di embassy no issue am wit Emergency Travel Certificate while di third passenger carry her sister two small pikin and dem no fit travel without parental contest

    “One woman dey try to travel wit two small pikin wey she tok say na her sister pikin. However, she no get any document to show relationship or consent from di sister,” BMA tok

    BMA futher explain say dem don handover all dis passengers wey dem deny departure to Ghanaian High Commissioner for future repatriation wen dem meet di “relevant immigration requirements for departure.”

    “Di Ghanaian govment don listen to di plight of dia citizens for South Africa, wey feel say dia lives dey for danger, wey feel say di economic activity dem dey do no pay again, wey feel unwelcome for dis kontri, and na di responsibility of evri govment to ensure say dia citizens dey taken care of both home and abroad.”
