Accra, July 22, GNA – Strategic Communications Africa Limited (Stratcomm Africa), organisers of the Ghana Garden and Flower Show, has called for increased investment in the green economy to drive job creation, business growth and exports.
The organisation said greater investment in horticulture, floriculture and landscaping would unlock economic opportunities while promoting environmental sustainability.
The call was made at the launch of the 2026 Ghana Garden and Flower Show in Accra, where government officials and industry stakeholders highlighted the potential of green enterprises to support national development.

She urged government, businesses, development partners and citizens to collaborate in expanding investment in climate-smart agriculture, biodiversity conservation and green enterprises.
Mrs Bawah Mogtari said horticulture could also strengthen tourism, diplomacy and non-traditional exports, citing Singapore’s orchid diplomacy and Kenya’s flower export industry.
She called on the Ghana Export Promotion Authority and the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority to facilitate financing, investment and export opportunities for green businesses.

She encouraged Ghanaians to invest in flower production, landscaping and horticulture, noting that ornamental plants cultivated locally already attracted export demand.
Ms Cobbah said agriculture and horticulture could support the Government’s 24-hour economy policy because production activities continued throughout the day.
She called for greater investment in the green economy to create employment, reduce poverty and improve environmental sanitation.
Ms Cobbah also expressed concern over Ghana’s dependence on imported flowers for social events and urged entrepreneurs to develop the local floriculture industry for domestic consumption and export.
The 2026 Ghana Garden and Flower Show, on the theme: “Green Means Business, Beauty and More,” will be held from September 12 to 21 at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra.
