South Africa-based Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan has addressed claims by Kenyans on social media, comparing her to The Polygamist’s lead actor Jonasi Gomora
Jonasi Gomora is the toxic, manipulative protagonist and primary villain of the hit Netflix drama The Polygamist. Played by actor S’dumo Mtshali, Jonasi portrays a wealthy South African businessman who uses a veil of traditional polygamy to justify serial infidelity and deceit
After giving her review of the South African show, Zari also revealed that looking back, her father was also a ‘Jonasi’
This saw some Kenyans refer to her as the female version of Jonasi and Zari got wind of the comments. She shared a TikTok video shutting down those claims

“So I just landed on a page, I think it is in Kenya about the whole Jonasi situation, you know Zari says Jonasi bla bla bla, yeah I get it. But the comment section was like Zari is a female version of Jonasi. Guys I am dead. Me? Zari? A female version? Haven’t we had this topic before? I am nowhere close to being a female version of Jonasi. Number one, I date one person at a time,” she said.
According to the socialite, any man who dates her can swear that she belongs to him without flinching as she is loyal to the person she is committed to
“Jonasi played different women, different times. How is that even close? You guys have been disrespecting me for long, but this, Zari is a female version of Jonasi? Babe, I date one person at a time. I don’t play guys. Some of you are leaving comments because of the things they have seen here and there on the internet. Have you even watched the series?” she added.
She affirmed that she is a good woman and that when she is with a person, she ensures that he enjoys all of her
“I don’t have a body count. You can tell. She has been with this one. This is you sleeping with so many different people in a week. Meanwhile I am still sleeping with the same person for five years. I am demanding that you start respecting me. Do not compare me to being a female version of Jonasi. One thing about good women, we are never noticed,” she further said.
Here are some of the comments from social media users:
