L<a href="https://absafricatv.com/amref-health-africa-ceo-calls-for-action-on-health-in-africa/” title=”Amref Health Africa CEO calls for action on health in Africa”>AfricaMobile, a pan-African cloud communications and digital solutions provider, has reached a new milestone in the rollout of Yela, its travel eSIM solution, with the mobile application now available on both Google Play and the App Store.
Developed by LAfricaMobile, Yela enables users to purchase and activate mobile data plans digitally before or during their trip, without the need to buy or replace a physical SIM card.
The service provides connectivity across more than 190 countries, giving travelers a simple alternative to traditional roaming and local SIM cards.
With Yela, users can select a destination, choose a data plan suited to their needs and activate their eSIM directly on a compatible device. This allows travelers to stay connected from arrival while keeping their primary SIM card and phone number. Data plans start from 700 FCFA and can be paid by mobile money or bank card.
Launched in April 2026, Yela is now expanding its reach with an experience available directly on Android and iOS smartphones. This new milestone reflects LAfricaMobile’s broader ambition to develop digital services that respond to evolving connectivity needs across Africa and beyond.
For LAfricaMobile, the travel eSIM market also represents an opportunity to leverage its experience in telecom connectivity and digital services to address a growing segment of African consumers travelling internationally for business, tourism and family purposes.
Malick Diouf, CEO of LAfricaMobile
