AfriCa Fest returns to Victoria, marking its 13th edition with four days of music, food, workshops and multicultural celebration from June 4 to 7

Organizers said this year’s festival marks an exciting milestone as AfriCa Fest moves to Ship Point for the first time after 12 years at Centennial Square

Described as a cultural immersion experience rooted in African and Afro-Caribbean traditions, the festival also welcomes participation from communities of diverse backgrounds

Programming includes performances, dance workshops, artisan vendors, youth activities and more

The festival opens on Thursday, June 4, with a night market, featuring live music, food vendors, a dance workshop and social music event

Friday’s Afro-Latin Experience includes a salsa workshop and a performance by Pablo Cardenas & The West Coast Cuban Orchestra

Saturday and Sunday will be dedicated to youth programming, family activities and to the community, with scheduled workshops in drumming, dance and music throughout the afternoon, followed by an evening of live performances

Daytime programming is free and open to the public

Event details, including programming updates, are available at issambacentre.ca
