The FIFA organizing committee revealed the list of 2030 FIFA World Cup stadium locations, which includes 23 venues in six countries spanning three continents – Europe, Africa and South America.
The tournament will hold inaugural matches in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay, but the main schedule is centered in Spain (home of the 2026 champions), Morocco and Portugal.
The next World Cup will visit more stadiums than ever before. By comparison, the 2026 World Cup was held at 16 stadiums in the U.S., Mexico and Canada hosting a total of 48 teams and 104 matches.
Some 2030 stadium locations are still awaiting final confirmation from the FIFA governing body with 11 venues in Spain, 6 in Morocco and 3 in Portugal. The stadiums in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay will each host one of the three opening games in celebration of the centenary of the inaugural World Cup, which was held in Uruguay in 1930.
Four of the 23 stadiums will be entirely new, with 11 undergoing renovations ahead of the tournament to meet FIFA requires, which include capacities of at least 40,000 for all group stage stadiums.
When completed in late 2027, the Grand Stade Hassan II in Morocco will be capable of seating 115,000, making it the largest football stadium in the world. When Barcelona’s $1.87 billion Camp Nou renovation is fully operational in 2027, the capacity will stretch from 99,000 to 105,000, making it the biggest stadium in Europe.
