Kitara FC have confirmed the departure of eight players as the club begins reshaping its squad ahead of the new season.

Leading the list of exits is defensive midfielder Yunus Sibira, who has completed a move to KCCA FC.

Sibira joined the Royals from Buhimba United Saints in September 2025 and quickly established himself as a key player in the team. He finished the season as Kitara’s second-most utilised player, behind only captain Jasper Aheebwa Baguma.

The midfielder made 34 appearances across all competitions, including 29 Uganda Premier League matches and five Stanbic Uganda Cup games.

Sibira scored two goals and provided one assist during the campaign, while also playing a key role in helping Kitara lift the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Forward Shaban Muhammad has also left the club after both parties agreed to terminate their relationship by mutual consent.

Meanwhile, goalkeepers James Alitho and Aziz Saleh have been released alongside Frank Kasumba, Eric Tumwine, Sadiq Ssekyembe, and Amir Kakomo. The eight players will not be part of Kitara’s plans as the club prepares for the upcoming campaign.

Kitara FC Chief Executive Officer Joshua Atugonza thanked the departing players for their contribution to the club’s growth and success.

“We let them go not out of bad faith, but because we are reshaping the team for the next season. You will see new faces being unveiled at the club. Our plans for the next season will be communicated as the season starts,” Atugonza said.

The club is expected to announce new signings as it builds a squad capable of competing in the upcoming season
