Zambia’s MTN/FAZ Super League champions Power Dynamos FC tied down accomplished coach Osward Mutapa to a new three-year contract ahead of the CAF Champions League adventure.
The Zambian champions renewed the award-winning coach’s contract on Friday, ensuring his continued stay at the club until December 2029.
Speaking during the contract renewal ceremony, Power Dynamos President, Benny Simukoko, said the coach has earned the new deal after ticking most of the boxes, including for the CAF Champions League.
“Yes, all Power Dynamos contracts are performance-based, including that of the coach. We are proud to continue working with him. Additionally, we have goals as a club, and we believe coach Mutapa is the man to help us achieve these goals,” said Simukoko as quoted by the club’s media.
The 53-year-old has since promised to build on the success that has seen him win back-to-back MTN/FAZ Super League titles, guaranteeing continued CAF Champions League football.
“I am honoured to extend my stay at this great club until 2029. We have achieved a lot together, but there is still more to do. Our target is to sustain success, compete on the continent, and bring more trophies to our fans,” said Mutapa.
The former Zambia under-17 COSAFA Youth Championship-winning coach guided the power men to a strong finish in the 2025-2026 Champions League.
The mentor also steered the champions to the ABSA Cup final which they lost to Red Arrows last season.
