The project, which is available for streaming and download on major digital platforms, reflects Mohamed’s long-standing commitment to preserving African musical traditions and highlights his contribution to the continent’s cultural heritage. It also features vocals from the late South African singer Gloria Bosman.

The album draws on material spanning different stages of Mohamed’s career, bringing together work that blends traditional African sounds with contemporary influences. Among the tracks are collaborations with Bosman on several recordings, including ‘Shimmer’, ‘Kagga Kamma’, ‘Saunal Spirits’, ‘Spaces and Places’ and ‘Singing The Praises Of Black Women’.

Other tracks on the release include ‘The Journey’ and ‘I’m Going Home’.

Reflecting on his artistic philosophy, Mohamed previously said: “If people don’t understand where they come from, there is a hole in their soul.”

The statement underpins the thematic direction of the album, which focuses on cultural memory, identity and continuity within African music.

Over the course of his career, Mohamed was known for his work as a performer, composer and cultural advocate, with a focus on integrating traditional African instrumentation into modern musical contexts. His influence has been acknowledged both in South Africa and internationally.
