Ramayana has taken another major step in its journey to audiences across the globe.

Prime Focus Studios has announced that Sony Pictures will handle the global distribution of Ramayana outside India, while Dharma Productions will lead distribution across North India’s Hindi-speaking markets. Together, these partnerships mark another milestone in bringing one of humanity’s oldest and most enduring stories to audiences around the world.

Produced by Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana unites an extraordinary team of filmmakers, artists and craftspeople to bring this timeless epic to life with cinematic ambition on an unprecedented scale.

Talking about the Sony Pictures partnership, DNEG CEO and Founder, Namit Malhotra, said:

“For generations, the Ramayana has inspired people through its timeless humanity and enduring values. Our ambition has always been to honor that legacy while creating a cinematic experience worthy of audiences everywhere. Through DNEG, we have spent decades helping filmmakers realize some of the world’s most ambitious cinematic visions. With Prime Focus Studios, we are now bringing that same commitment to storytelling to one of the world’s greatest epics. Collaborating with Sony Pictures gives Ramayana an extraordinary opportunity to connect with international audiences and introduce this timeless story to moviegoers around the world.”

And on the partnership with Dharma Productions, he continued:

“With Dharma Productions joining us for the North India distribution of Ramayana: Part One, we have a partner that shares this vision. Karan, Apoorva, and the Dharma team bring exceptional expertise across the Hindi-speaking markets, and together, we look forward to bringing this epic to audiences on the grandest possible scale.”

Another milestone. One step closer to sharing Ramayana with the world.
